I enjoyed being a sales associate at Yankee Candle. I met so many agreeable people and my fellow employees were fun to work with. I was onlu part time; therefore, I really cannot contribute to judging the benefits. if you like a bad schedule that changes based on whim and a careless, disengaged management team, you're in the right place. Management doesn't set a good example--they spend hours in the office chatting and on their cell phones while everyone else is busy. During the busy season instead of hiring more people they make us work 60 hours a week. A 6AM-2PM schedule can turn into 4AM-2PM without a single thought to what that might do to people's sleeping schedules. They'll use you up and wring you dry as much as possible. To let you know about the overtime you're about to work, management will just post the hours by the time clock. They won't say hi or look at you. Things are poorly organized. There are many times I feel like I could do a better job with upcoming projects, given that most of the time the problem is undercommunication and underutilization of their employees.
